The Dentist

Marley and I went to the dentist this week. Marley had never been before, so they told me to bring her in with me, and they'd have the dentist look at her teeth, and see if she did okay. So she basically sat on my lap and watched me get my teeth cleaned. Then it was her turn. She sat right up in the chair and didn't move. She kept her mouth open, and wasn't even shy with the dentist. He said her mouth is forming perfectly, just to work with her to quit sucking her thumb. He said the only problem he could see is that she might not have enough room in her mouth for all of her teeth later on. Surprise Surprise! For those of you who don't know, that was basically the only problem with me, it led to getting teeth pulled, and braces and retainers from about the time I was in 2nd grade, until my sophomore year in high school. So I can already see the writing on the wall with her. But I will count my blessings because, at least she has my mouth, her father has horribly crooked teeth! Anyway, they set up an appointment for her to go back later in the month and get her teeth cleaned. If anyone has any tips on getting her to quit sucking her thumb I'd love to hear it!
